The rich history of this beach area is explained with displays of pictures, exhibits, and artifacts. Housed in the historic Carl & Caroline Moseley 1930's beach cottage, Indian Rocks Beach history is traced from its founding as one of the earliest beach communities to the present day. The Indian Room contains early relics, including weapons, attire, a doll collection, and handicrafts portraying the ways of the region’s original inhabitants. A wooden "swing bridge" was build to connect the barrier island to the mainland and the bridge tender’s chair, a bridge lantern and photos of the bridge tender opening the bridge with a giant key are on display. All this and many more reminders of old-time Indian Rocks Beach await visitors to the Museum. The Museum is entirely supported by its volunteer members, The Indian Rocks Beach Historical Society, which was founded in 1980. This group of dedicated individuals strives to preserve a most interesting beach history for the enjoyment of many generations to come. Visit from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday thru Saturday.
